Participation of the Armed forces of Ukraine in PfP program:

1994 – participation in 2 PfP joint military exercises.

1995 – participation in 98 actions, including 11 PfP military exercises.

1996 – participation in 53 actions, including 18 military exercises, 3 of which (“Peaceshield-96”, “Kozatskiy step-96” and “Karpaty security-96”) were conducted on the territory of Ukraine.

1997 – participation in 157 actions, including 22 military exercises, 2 of which “Cooperative neigbour-97” and “Sea Breeze-97” were held on the territory of Ukraine.

1998 – participation in 100 actions, including 17 military exercises, 2 of which “Peaceshield-98” and “Sea Breeze-98” were held on the territory of Ukraine.

1999 – participation in 156 actions, including 11 military exercises, 2 of which “Peaceshield-99” and “Cooperative Support-99” were held on the territory of Ukraine.

2000 – participation in 113 actions, including 10 military exercises, 3 of which “Cooperative Partner – 2000”, “Peace shield - 2000” and “Kozatskiy step-2000” were held on the territory of Ukraine.

2001 – participation in 117 actions, including 15 military exercises. 380 Ukrainian servicemen took part in actions according to IPP-2001.

In 2002 according to the Individual Program of partnership between NATO and Ukraine 141 actions are planned, including 22 military exercises.

By 01.08.2002 representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had participated in 78 actions of IPP and 81 additional actions. 10 military exercises were held in the frameworks and in the spirit of PfP program.

Priority directions of cooperation are:

  • Management, command and control;
  • Language training;
  • Logistics support;
  • Military exercises and appropriate actions;
  • Standardization and interoperability;
