formations of NATO Member Nations, as it is determined
for pretender countries, but also to accomplish aims and

So, on the basis of information
given to Alliance about its Armed Forces and State
Program of Reforming and Development of the Armed Forces
of Ukraine till 2005, specialists from Ukraine and NATO
in their joint effort elaborated project of Goals of
reforming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In December 2001 the List of
Goals of reforming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,
renamed into National Goals of Military Reform in
Ukraine, was adopted at NATO-Ukraine Commission.
Further work in this direction
envisages the elaboration of detailed Plan of
implementation of National Goals generalizing plans of
implementation of each goal (total number 80) taking
into account principles of NATO defense planning and
State Program of Reforming and Development of the Armed
Forces of Ukraine till 2005.
Important stage in achieving
these goals and the key task for the nearest future is
organization and conduct of Defense Review.
