Nominal Gun award

It was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 341/95 dated  April 29, 1995. It is designed to award people for their personal deeds in assuring the defense capability of Ukraine, inviolability of its state border, maintaining a high level of combat readiness, reinforcement of national security, fighting with criminality, protecting constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, for perfect service for many years, excellent performing of military and service duty, for honor and valor displayed.

REGULATIONS 
On the Nominal Gun award

  1. The Nominal Gun award is a pistol. It is awarded to officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Border Troops, other military formations created in accordance with the Ukrainian legislature, Security Service of Ukraine, Internal Affaires bodies and and commissioned servicemen.
  2. The Nominal Gun award with a certificate of the award and 16 round unit of fire is presented by the President of Ukraine or the minister on his authorization.
  3. The gun which is a Nominal Gun award has to be registered at an internal affairs office at a domicile of the awarded.
  4. Individuals given the Nominal Gun award are entitled to keep it, wear it and use it.They have to fully keep the rules of keeping, wearing and using a gun.
  5. In case the gun is lost (spoiled) no duplicate is given.
  6. It is the President of Ukraine who can deprive of the Nominal Gun award.
