“For
courage” order
It was established by the
Decree of the President of Ukraine # 720/96 dated August
21, 1996 to decorate citizens for personal courage and
heroism displayed at emergencies and were aimed
protection of people, their rights and freedoms and
social interests.

The order sign is made of
gilded silver. The reverse side is shallow with
The order number engraved on it and a pin. The
order star is made of Silver.

Of the “For courage” order
- The "For courage"
order is awarded to military servicemen, law
enforcement bodies workers and other individuals for
personal courage and heroism displayed while saving
people and material valuables during the calamities,
fires and other emergencies consequences management
at combat with criminality and at execution of
service, citizen duty in conditions risky for life.
- The "For courage"
order can be awarded to citizens of Ukraine, foreign
citizens or individuals without citizenship.
- The "For courage"
order 3 grades. The highest is the first grade.
- The person awarded the
"For courage" order of any grade is named
a knight of the "For courage" order.
- The 1-st grade of the order
"For courage" has a respective sign - a
cross and a star, and the 2-nd and the 3-d grade
order - the respective sign only.
- The Order "For
courage" can be awarded posthumously.
It is the President of Ukraine
who can deprive of the Order "For courage"
In case the awarded is convicted for a serious crime
after the courts submission and during the procedures
foreseen by the legislature.
